Red wine

Bell Cros outside of Marça, close to the small town of Falset in DO Montsant is a vineyard that is growing. Acquisitions of neighbouring vineyards have increased the size of Bell Cros to over 25 hectares, with 16 hectares of grapevines that will produce some 50,000 bottles a year. The vineyard and the winery are officially EU-organic certified. From vintage 2023 onwards all Bell Cros wines will carry the EU-organic logo, the green leaf. The wines are Vegan certified as well.

El Camí / 2021

El Camí is a small winding dirt road that passes through the vineyard of Bell Cros. It was of great importance locally during the Spanish Civil War, 1936-39, when wine production in Spain almost stopped. Two houses (masias) still standing beside the road today played important roles during the war as a hospital and an eatery.

AVERAGE OF VINES 15 to 68 years
TASTING NOTES A medium-high layer of bluish tones with a red background. On the nose, notes of fresh black fruits such as plums and blueberries wrapped with a floral part such as violets and a touch of Mediterranean bush. On the palate, the wine is fresh, with fine and welcoming tannins and a long finish.
SERVING SUGGESTIONS Preferably paired with white or red meat together with pasta, rice and vegetables. Serve at a temperature of 16-17 °C.

La Colina/ 2023

The view up on The Hill (La Colina), facing the village Marça gives a stunning view of the whole of the Bell Cros vineyard. Gazing across the rows of vines, the undulating mountains and the village of Marça, we experience a feeling of harmony. It is our dream to build a winery on this spot and for each passing day we come closer to realising this dream.

AVERAGE OF VINES 5 to 65 years
TASTING NOTES Medium color, where bright red tones are dominant. On the nose its fruit-forward and aromatic with red fruits, like fresh strawberries wrapped with a floral part of orange blossom and tangerine skins. A light/medium bodied wine. On the palate, the wine is fresh, elegant and easy to drink.
SERVING SUGGESTIONS Preferably paired with white and red meat, beef stew, grilled fish together with pasta, rice, potatoes and vegetables. Serve at a temperature 16-17°C.

El Tracte / 2020

The first step in the Bell Cros venture was taken in September 2017. Bell Cros purchase of the land that husband and wife Joan and Maria had worked and tended for 40 years was sealed with “El Tracte”, a Catalan handshake. El Tracte 2017 was Bell Cros first vintage of wine. The Carinyena grapes were selected from a small area of the vineyard where the vines are 40 years old.

TASTING NOTES Intense, deep color with dark blue tones. Intense aroma of blue fruits of plums and blueberries. Fresh and intense on the palate, with a long finish to enjoy it.
SERVING SUGGESTIONS Preferably paired with red meat together with a creamy sauce, pasta, rice, potatoes and vegetables. Uncork and air the bottle 30 minutes before drinking. Serve at a temperature of 16-17 ºC

TASTING NOTES Ruby red in color. Aromatically fresh and delicate with flavors of lilac flowers, plums and citrus. A long finish that seduces to drink more.
SERVING SUGGESTIONS Preferably paired with white or red meat together with pasta, rice and vegetables. Serve at a temperature of 16-17°C.
